Craft Gin Club September 2020

So, I’ve been a member of Craft Gin Club for a couple of years now and it is actually amazing. Even if you don’t like gin, it’s worth it for the snacks alone…okay maybe that’s an exaggeration but it’s that good! I get the quarterly subscription as even though I love gin, I can’t get through a bottle a month, especially this year seeing as I’ve not been with anybody to drink it with.

This month’s box is worth over £60 but our box only cost £20 as had some points to use…bargain! September’s gin is Stranger & Sons Gin and celebrates India’s citrus fruits and spices. Also in the box are two bottles of The London Essence Co. Blood Orange and Elderflower tonic, a little bottle of Campari, Martin Frobisher’s Pineapple Juice, Gin-A-Colada cocktail syrup and of course the garnish, which this month is lemon and peppercorn.

The first thing we did was make the cocktail…I’m not usually a cocktail person but I’ve started making these and they have all been really good so far. This month’s cocktail is the Gin-A-Colada which was a mix of the gin, pineapple juice and syrup along with a hefty dose of ice. It was quite strong but was super refreshing and the pineapple juice so good…I definitely prefer this to a normal Pina Colada! It was very sweet though so if that’s not your thing, this one probably isn’t for you.

On to the snacks, and I am always as excited about the snacks as I am the gin! First up are the Howdah snacks…we got the Onion Bhaji but there are also Bombay Mix and Masala Dippers. There is another savoury snack in the form of Mr Signh’s Chilli crisps and to top it off a big bar of Tony’s Chocolonely chocolate. The Onion Bhaji snacks were cracked open pretty much straight away and oh my God they were soooo good! They are kind of half moon shaped, with a hard, crunchy texture and I could literally eat a family sized bag in one sitting. The crisps were also opened soon after and they also tasted seriously good but jeezo they are spicy! A bit too hot for me to eat a whole pack but I still made a good go of it. The chocolate hasn’t been opened yet but I can tell there’s no scrimping here, it is a mighty big slab! The last item in the box is Taylors of Harrogate coffee bags…this isn’t something that I’ll get any use out of as I don’t drink coffee but the OH had them and gave them a thumbs up!

All in all, this month’s gin box was a big success! Everything was delicious (apart from the choc which I haven’t tried yet but I’ve no doubt it will be). Even the coffee which I don’t drink went to good use…I am just extremely sad that I now have to wait until December for the next one (literally how are we thinking about December already?!)

Subscriptions are monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly and are £40 per box. September’s box is already sold out but you can sign up for October’s box now. If you want to get in on the action you can get £16 off your first box with this code https://prz.io/LpkkJvSN You can thank me later!
