September 2020 Birchbox

I can’t actually believe it’s almost the end of September already (I’ll probably start all my posts for the rest of the year like this. I have kept receiving my beauty boxes right the way through the disaster that has been 2020 as they give me a little bit of joy every month! This month’s Birchbox theme is appropraite names Better Together and as well as another cute box design, they also threw in some stickers to add to the box (not something I will do but I’m sure many others will enjoy this). There is a good mix of make-up, skincare and hair products this month, although I think they have scrimped on the sizes…some are teeny tiny! But lets get down to the good stuff and see what was actually inside.

Starting with make-up we have MCo Beauty Peachy Gloss Hydrating Lip Oil (RRP £14). Subscribers had the choice of this or a matte lipstick but I went for this as I much prefer a glossy lip. This is a gorgeous nude and can be worn alone or over lipstick and although a bit sticky (is there a gloss that isn’t?), it applies well and doesn’t dry out my lips.

Next is ModelCo More Brows in shade light to medium (Full size RRP £18). This is a very small sample but actually feels like it will last for a while. This is so easy to apply, just brush it across brows for nice definition. I am definitely not one of those people that spends ages on the perfect brow, I just fill in with a bit of pencil…so that was actually perfect for me as I can just swipe and go.

Moving on to skincare, we have TRUE Skincare Certified Organic Rehydrating Rosehip & Rosemary Facial Oil (Full size RRP £13.50). I love a good face oil and this claims to be hydrating, rejuvenating and radiance boosting so am looking forward to trying this. I’m still working my way through my Beauty Pie facial oil though so will finish that before I crack this open.

An extra item this month is a sachet of Estee Lauder Revitalizing Supreme + Global Anti-Aging Cell Power Creme (Full sized RRP £70). This is literally just a sample sachet so I’m not going to know if this has skin transforming powers but it’s still a nice addition and I really like this brand so I’m not complaining.

Next out the box is a hair product in the form of Philip Kingsley Rose & Lychee Elasticizer Deep-Conditioning Treatment (Full sized RRP £36). If you haven’t heard of this before then where have you been?! I’ve just got a little of the original left so this came at the right time. I haven’t tried the Rose and Lychee before so am looking forward to seeing how this smells! I try and use this once a week because it really does work wonders for my hair, it is always so soft and manageable after using this. The only issue I have is that I have to get in the shower to wet my hair and then get out and sit around for 20mins/ half an hour before getting back in again…and that is a hassle! It’s definitely worth it if you can be bothered with the effort!

Last but not least we have This Works Stress Check Breathe In (Full sized RRP £18). I already use the pillow spray by the brand and love it so was intrigued by this little addition. I applied to pulse points before bed alongside the pillow spray and it smells super fresh and relaxing. I can’t say for sure that they work but I keep purchasing more and am also loving this new find!

All in all this was a good box and I’ll get use out of everything which rarely happens! I really liked the lip gloss and hair mask and have my fingers crossed for the face oil when I get round to using it. The only slight disappointment this month is the size of the samples…the majority of items are sachets or tiny samples, although still great for discovering new brands and products.
