Shoes, boots, trainers, sandals, heels…I love them all and have far, far too many pairs (not that this will stop me adding more). However, I’m going to focus on boots for this post as, seeing as it’s winter, I rarely wear anything else on my feet at the moment (other than slippers obvs). There are so many options, ankle, knee, thigh high, leather, suede, wellies…the list could go on! I’m going to go through my favourite boots and also those which are currently on my wishlist!
I’ll start with the boots I wear the most and that’s my Fairfax & Favor Explorers which I have in the dark brown Mahogany shade. These are hard wearing with a thick sole, perfect for both town and country and as long as you treat them well, you don’t need to worry about them getting wet and muddy! These boots fit me like a glove and I have constantly reached for them whenever I’ve left the house this past year (which I must admit has not been often!) Yes they are pricey but I’ll be wearing these for years to come! They also come in a lighter Oak shade which I absolutely love…I just don’t think I can justify two pairs!

Sticking with F&F, another favourite boot of mine is the suede Heeled Regina which I have in Tan. And they are beautiful. No, I wouldn’t wear these out and about on the farm but they are super versatile and can be dressed up or down. These also fit me perfectly and thanks to the zip and stretchy fabric, are very flattering on the leg. Again, as long as properly protected, these won’t get ruined if you get caught in the rain!

My last pair of F&F boots and admittedly the pair I wear the least are the over the knee Heeled Amiras. I have these in black and they are my pride and joy! I’d say these are the smartest of the brands boots and I usually keep them for fancier occasions but I always feel amazing when I have these on my feet!

I’m also very partial to an ankle boot and one pair that I wear constantly throughout the colder months (who am I kidding, I wear them all year round) are my Ugg fleece lined ankle boots. These are literally one of the comfiest pairs of boots I’ve ever owned, probably thanks to the fleecy lining inside and they keep my tootsies nice and warm! Unfortunately they don’t seem to sell these anymore, however, I have found these Ugg Markstrum boots which are very similar and I would also very much like to own! Just look at that sole…you won’t be sliding about on the ice with those bad boys!

For smarter occasions, I always look to my heeled New Look ankle boots. I got these a good few years ago and they have lasted so well considering the number of boozy occasions they have been subjected to! I love a bit of gold buckle detail on my boots and these have just that which makes them stand out and although the heel is high, they are super comfy and I often wear them all day. As with the Ugg’s, these are long gone from the shops and unfortunately can’t find anything similar at the moment as clearly tan ankle boots are not a winter item?! I beg to differ but whatever.

Another type of boot that every country girl needs (especially in the weather we have had recently) is a pair of wellies. Now I have had a lot of bother with wellies and am still looking for the perfect pair that are comfortable and can last trudging through mud on a daily basis! I’ve had Hunters, Hoggs and Aigles, both of which have only lasted mere months before needing replaced and am now putting another pair of Hunters through their paces. However, I can already feel the heel starting to rub and I have a feeling they aren’t as good quality as they used to be so I’ll wait and see how they go. Although if they are anything like the Welly socks I’m not holding out much hope as a hole appeared in them within month of getting them! I have considered Le Chameau but I just don’t know if I can bear to part with that much cash for a pair of wellies (Yes I am well aware my Fairfax boots all cost more). Any recommendations would be gratefully received!

So, that’s all about my own boots…but what about those I’m currently lusting after (And no, you can never have too many). A pair that have been at the top of my wish list since they were released are the Fairfax and Favor Burnham’s…a similar look and fit to the Reginas but with leather and buckle detail. I NEED THESE BOOTS IN MY LIFE!

For something a little bit out there, even though I won’t be going anywhere any time soon to wear them, I am loving these Carvela Snake Print Leather Ankle Boots. These would go perfectly with my fail safe ensemble of black on black and they would look fab day or night. Did I mention they are also currently on sale?!

Coming back to reality and seeing as I am working and playing from home for the forseeable, and I know these are a proper blast from the past, but I would actually love these Ugg Classic Mini Boots for scuffing around the house. I already have the slippers and they are so comfy and cosy but these would also keep my ankles warm in this cold weather (that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it).

Lastly, and I’ve already mentioned the fact that I haven’t found a great pair of wellies yet but if I did have the budget and knew they would fit well, I’d absolutely go for the Le Chameau Neoprene Lined Wellies. I’ve heard good things about these and they look nice as well as hopefully being strong and sturdy enough to put up with lots of stomping about in not very nice conditions.

So there you have it, my favourite booties, plus a very narrowed down wishlist. Footwear is one item of clothing that I have a lot of love for and I cannot resist a good pair of shoes, boots, heels…even slippers! I am also very easily influenced so if any of you have any recommendations that haven’t been mentioned here, do let me know! Hopefully this post has provided a bit of light reading and maybe some ideas of how to spend some of that hard earned cash…I for one need no assistance in this area, especially judging by the number of parcels that have come through my door over lockdown…what can I say other than TREAT YO’SELF!
Until next time,
Kirsty x

Lovely blog! I had Hunter’s and they didn’t stand the test of time or wear at all! Not on a farm anyway! Le C’s are an investment – mine are still as good as new despite being continually battered on the farm. I’ve walked miles in them! I’d have to be really convinced to try anything else now x
