March Glossybox 2021

Glossybox’s theme for March was Pretty Pleasures, a box containing products that will boost your mood and your confidence (I don’t know about you but I could do with some of that right now). I’d say this month was a mixed bag for me in terms of products but there was a good range of make-up skincare, nail varnish and beauty tools which was great. But without wasting any more time, lets see what was inside!

First out of this month’s box was a full sized Beautaniq Nourishing Mascara (RRP £14.45). Unfortunately for me this did not do nearly enough to my lashes for me to want to keep using this…I am a big fan of lashes that are as long and thick as can be (get your minds out of the gutter please). Although, if you are a fan of a natural look then this may well be the one for you. I did find the claims that this mascara thickens, lengthens and curls a bit of an exaggeration as I only noticed a very subtle effect. However, it does contain Camellia and almond oil to strengthen lashes which is a definite plus point.

Another make-up product is the Lord and Berry Line/ Shade – Black travel size (RRP £10). I really don’t get on with this brand so I was disappointed to receive another one of their pencils. I found this very dry and scratchy to apply and I found the end result patchy and dull…it also smudged very easily so it’s a strong no from me.

The last make-up product and the one I liked the best is the Figs & Rouge Satin Soft Blurring Primer & Finishing Fix (RRP £38). First of all the packaging is super pretty, but the product itself is also very nice. This applied well and left my skin smooth and ready for my base. Whether it makes my make-up last longer, I’m not sure as I’m not wearing very much these days but hopefully that will be changing when lockdown eases. It’s also full sized so this will last me for a while.

Moving on to the next product in the box (and another full size) which is the So Eco Complexion Sponge (RRP £6). I always use sponges to apply my foundation so I was happy to see this addition and it didn’t disappoint. There’s not much I can say about a sponge but it is soft and squidgy so made application easy and my foundation looked perfect.

Last but certainly not least and definitely my favourite product out of this month’s box is the Nails Inc Palace Gardens Nail Polish (RRP £11) and yep, it’s another full sized product! The colour is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for Spring…it’s a lovely light pastel blue (or maybe green?), it’s hard to say but it’s stunning. This applies really smoothly and leaves a perfect finish. Mine does chip within a few days but to be fair I’m out on the farm and with the horses every day so I don’t expect it to be perfect for any length of time. Big thumbs up for this one!

And that’s it for March. Like I said at the beginning, this was a mixed bag for me as I didn’t like either of the make-up products, but this was definitely made up for by the rest of the box as I loved everything else, in particular the nail varnish which I absolutely love! There were also a whopping four full sized products and a deluxe sample so it’s brilliant value for money and you can really try everything for a decent length of time. I’m now eagerly awaiting April’s box now and trying to avoid any spoilers!
