May Glossybox 2021

You would hope by the time May rolls around, we are starting to see better weather…not in Scotland you don’t! Just when I thought some warm sunshine was starting to peek through, a week of constant rain, snow and cold winds came straight back in…IN MAY! So my monthly Glossybox was a welcome treat by the time it came through the door. This month’s theme is Let The Sun Shine (Ha, I wish) filled with products to help us enjoy the sunshine and prep us for going out and socialising again! There are four full sized products and a good variety of make-up, skincare and bodycare this month so all in all a great box.

Let’s get to the good stuff…Starting with make-up we have Lottie London Power Foil in Golden Hour (RRP £6.95). This is a metallic eyeshadow and if I’m honest, I can’t say I was holding out much hope when I first set eyes on this as I usually prefer pressed powders. However, I will give credit where credit’s due and this eyeshadow is STUNNING! You only need a little bit for amazing colour pay off and the shimmery shade is really beautiful, perfect for summer. Now I just wish there were more shades to choose from!

The second make-up product is Ciate London Gold Definer Liner (RRP £18). At first glance I though, ‘ugh not another black eyeliner’, so I was pleasantly surprised when I realised that it was actually gold. I’ve been wearing this in the inner corners of my eyes and as a regular liner and it looks great both ways. the light shade really brightens eyes and gives a nice touch of shimmer. It also has a built in sharpener at the base so you don’t have to worry about a blunt nib.

Moving on to skincare we have Rodial Dragon’s Blood Eye Masks (RRP £6). I love eye masks so am always happy to see these in a box and I especially love the fact that these ones are gel masks…I find they stay on more securely and always feel soothing under my eyes. These aim to hydrate the eye area as well as de-puffing and cooling (yes please). I really enjoyed wearing these and my eyes definitely looked and felt brighter and refreshed after use. Another item to add to my ever growing wishlist.

Next out the box is the Kueshi Lemon Shower Gel (RRP £5.70). Another product that I always like receiving is shower gels as you can never really have enough of them. This has a zingy citrus scent which will definitely wake you up in the morning! It applies well and foams up nicely and left me feeling clean, refreshed and my skin soft…what more could you ask for?

The last item out the box and the only non full sized product (however, it is still a very generous deluxe mini) is Minetan Rapid Recovery After Sun Gel (RRP £13.35 or full sized RRP £28.60). This is the only product I wasn’t very excited about. I don’t tan and am very careful not to allow my skin to burn (hello SPF50) so I never really use aftersun. Seeing as it has rained or snowed pretty much ever since my box arrived I haven’t had any reason to use this but I will keep it just in case the sun catches me out in the near future!

So there you have it, May’s box done and dusted just like that. I loved the fact that there were so many full sized items and even the deluxe mini was a decent size so it feels like great value for money. I also got the chance to try an eyeshadow which I would never have purchased myself but am now a big fan and this is one of the benefits of a subscription box…even though you won’t like everything, it is great to get the chance to try things you wouldn’t normally and maybe find some wee gems in the process! I feel that this box is perfect for the upcoming summer months and I’ll get use out of everything and even though the aftersun isn’t something I usually use, it will definitely be beneficial to have it lying around in case I need it!

If that hasn’t been enough to tempt you, if you sign up to Glossybox in May you will also be entered into a competition with the chance to win a holiday to Cyprus…and you can get £5 off your first box with the code https://www.glossybox.co.uk/referrals.list?applyCode=KIRSTY-R25.

Until next time,
