June Birchbox 2021

I was thinking about cancelling my Birchbox subscription a few months ago and I’m so glad I didn’t as the past couple of boxes have been really good and this month is no exception. June’s Birchbox theme is “Express Yourself” and subscribers will receive a bright, rainbow coloured box (which is a treat in itself and I will definitely be keeping for storage). I received 6 products in this month’s box and there is a great variety of products from make-up and skincare to hair care and beauty tools!

I’m going to start with my favourite product in this month’s box which is the Jecca Blac Glow Drops in the shade ‘Champagne’. I actually already had the same product in ‘Rose Pearl’ and absolutely loved it so I was really pleased to see this and couldn’t wait to try it out. I mix this with my foundation and find that it leaves a really natural, pretty glow. It’s not too sparkly and just provides a little extra oomph to my base. Love it!

Moving on to skincare, we have the Sand & Sky Australian Emu Apple Super Bounce Mask (Full Sized RRP £56.90). I love a good face mask and this claims to hydrate, plump, soften and boost radiance…all sounds good so far. I left this on for the recommended 10 minutes and I have to say my skin felt so, so soft! Is it worth the price tag? I’ll need to keep using to decide, but I’m certainly feeling positive about it so far.

Sticking to the mask theme, I also received the Birchbox silicone face brush in Lilac (RRP £6). I was a bit disappointed at first glance but actually had been meaning to buy a mask applicator for ages so this came at just the right time. I hadn’t seen a silicone applicator before and it’s almost like a little rubber spatula but I found it to be really useful. I applied the mask with this and it was so much less messy than using my hands and I managed to get a good, even coverage. Not exciting but will get lots of use out of this…thumbs up!

I got not one but two masks this month (and I’m certainly not complaining). I also received the Grace & Stella Anti-Wrinkle & Energizing Eye Masks (Full Sized RRP £16). I love eye masks so this was another product I was really pleased to receive. These stick as well as any others…I wouldn’t want to walk around in them but it’s the perfect excuse for a 15 minute lie down! I wouldn’t say I noticed a dramatic difference in my eye area afterwards but it was very relaxing and my eyes felt lovely and refreshed.

Moving on to body care, we have the Aquahero Body Scrub (Full Sized RRP £17.90). This is made with 99% natural ingredients including honey and aloe vera and claims to exfoliate and deeply cleanse skin. I can’t really describe the scent, but it is quite nice and refreshing, although not my favourite. The scrub itself isn’t too rough but does it’s job and left my skin feeling soft and smooth. I will definitely finish the tube but it doesn’t feel quite as luxurious as my current scrub so probably won’t repurchase for that reason.

Last but not least we have the Amika Flash Instant Shine Mask (full Sized RRP £20). My hair is very long and is quite dry so I’m always looking for something to help add that much needed shine…so I was pretty stoked to receive this in my box. This mask takes all of 60 seconds to work so is great if you’re short on time. First of all, this is super watery so be careful not to waste any like I did at first! I wasn’t sure if this would work but I was pleasantly surprised as my hair felt really, REALLY soft afterwards. It was also a little shinier but I can’t say there was a massive difference in that respect. Unfortunately the sample size was pretty small so I only managed two trials with this and I would have liked to have been able to try a couple more times to see if there would be any real difference before committing to the full size but beggars can’t be choosers right?

So there’s June’s box in a nutshell. Although there weren’t many full sized items, I did receive six goodies rather than the usual five and I was happy with all of them which doesn’t happen often. My favourite products in this month’s box would have to be the glow drops and the face mask, but I will definitely be getting use out of everything else too. Next month certainly has a lot to live up to so let’s hope it’s a good one! What are your thoughts on this month’s box?
