July Glossybox 2021

So this post is late this month as my Glossybox was very delayed in making it’s way to my door. This was outwith Glossybox’s control and they did keep me (and everyone else I would imagine) up to date via e-mail so I didn’t have a problem with this…although going by the comments on their social media pages, many others clearly didn’t feel the same way (we are still technically in the midst of a pandemic may I remind you). Anyway, my July box finally arrived and what a beauty it was! This month’s theme is “Beauty Treasures” and Glossybox are providing us with some hidden treasures (their words, not mine), as well as a treasure chest box design which I will definitely be keeping! Were the contents as exciting as the box? You’ll have to read on to find out!

There were definitely a few brands and products that I haven’t come across before in this month’s box, although due to the box being delayed, I haven’t had the chance to test everything out which is a shame. There was a good mix of make-up, skincare etc and there were a couple of extra treats thrown in for good measure.

The first item from this month’s box is a full sized Foamo Shower Steamer Shell (RRP £3.99). This is one of the proucts I haven’t tried yet but it certainly looks interesting! It looks like a bath bomb but you put it on the floor of the shower and it will release sweet orange essential oils to help you relax and unwind. I mean, it sounds fun and I’ll definitely give it a go but unlike a bath bomb, I’m guessing it will last a few uses…but I’m not sure where to keep it in between…or do I just leave it on the floor until it disappears? Only time will tell |I guess, watch this space.

Moving on to make-up, we have a full sized KNDR Kind Bronze Bronzer (RRP £14). I didn’t have high hopes for this as it felt very light and flimsy but I’m glad I was proved wrong. This has a good colour and blends really easily without leaving me looking patchy or muddy. It contains a blend of plant based butters and claims to condition the skin…I have no idea if this is the case or not but it looks natural on my skin and I’ll definitely use it until the last drop…or until it breaks which is usually the case with me.

The next make-up item is another full sized product, the MCoBeauty Cheek & Lip Tint in Flamingo Pink (RRP £12). This is another product that I haven’t tried, purely because I have the same product but in the shade Tango and I want to get to grips with it before I open another. I don’t like using this on my lips but have been trying to nail the technique for wearing as a blusher, I am getting better but still far from perfect! A little goes a long way so I still have heaps of the Tango shade to get through but it does leave a lovely natural colour (when you’re not too heavy handed). I’m not sure if the pink is going to be too pink for me but I do like the product and will give it a bash when the time comes.

The last make-up item in this month’s box is the mini Illamasqua Mascara (RRP £12). From the product card, I was due to receive the Eyeko Yoga Waterproof Mascara but actually I prefer the Illamasqua product as I really don’t like waterproof formulas…I’m sure they are easier to get off nowadays but I still have nightmares of trying to get rid of the waterproof formulas when I was a teen! Anyway, if you follow my blog, you will know that I am always on the hunt for THE mascara and no, I don’t think I have found it yet, BUT I do really like this product! It applies smoothly and doesn’t clump, even after a few coats…it also separates lashes well, and leaves them looking long and voluminous! This is definitely up there even though it may not the the one.

Next up is a full sized Aurikah Aura Body Fragrance Mist in Tropique (RRP £20). This isn’t a brand I’ve heard of before but my first thought was, are body mists sprays still a thing? I’ve not used one since my trusty Charlie Red! Well, I’m happy to give it a go! This mist is described as a luxurious, soft scent, leaving your skin fragrant and soft. I’ll give them their due, it does smell nice…does it moisturise my skin? I can’t say I noticed much of a difference. I’ll keep using it as it is a pleasant product, but personally, I’d rather just wear perfume.

As an extra little treat, I received two little sachets of Extra Bubblemint gum and I have to admit was very happy to see them…I always have a pack of Bubblemint stashed in my drawer at work (or at least I did when I was in the office) so this was a nice wee surprise! All in all I wouldn’t say this is the best box I’ve had, but there was nothing that I won’t use so it was definitely a success. My favourite products would have to be the mascara and bronzer but I am looking forward to trying out the shower steamer! The only product I wasn’t very keen on was the body mist just because it still feels a bit too noughties and I’d rather just stick to perfume!
