Another day, another delayed review post…and although my Birchbox was delayed this month, it’s more due to me being lazy and I just really couldn’t be arsed. But here it is, in all it’s glory and still with a day to spare! This month subscribers were treated to a tin rather than a cardboard box which was a nice little surprise…and a perfect little storage solution. As is often the case with Birchbox there were a lot of small sample sizes and much like September’s Glossybox, it was quite skincare heavy…but I did get some fabulous finds…
Starting with skincare, we have a full sized So Eco Gentle Facial Buffer (RRP £4). I do find these additions pretty boring but at the same time, they are very useful. This can be used with or without a cleanser to remove make-up and grime. I actually really like using products that remove make-up without the need for cleanser and this does just the job…so quick and easy. I also used it with cleanser for a deeper cleanse and my skin felt really soft and fresh afterwards…as boring as I found it, it definitely does the job!

Next up is Balance Me Radiance Face Oil (Full size RRP £30). I do love a good face oil so this was a nice addition to this month’s box. This oil is 100% natural and contains ingredients such as morninga, camellia oils and Roman chamomile. I applied this to my skin and then mixed with my night cream before bed and my face felt super soft and moisturised. It also smells quite nice but my one issue is the rollerball applicator…I prefer a dropper so I can mix in with my cream before applying.

Moving on to body care we have the Feel Free Blueberry Body Butter (Full size RRP £7). I had the choice of blueberry or lemon and I went for this as I haven’t really seen many blueberry scented products before and I’m not a huge citrus fan. I’m very glad with my choice, it smells fab…probably not for you if you don’t like sweet scents but I love it. The texture is very light and absorbs quickly, albeit not the most moisturising product I’ve used. Personally I prefer something a bit richer, BUT, I would say this is perfect if you’re in a rush and need to get dressed right away as there is no stickiness or residue left over…or if you just prefer a light texture which I’m quite sure some of you do.

I also received a hair product this month, the Morning Street Green Daily Shampoo (Full Size RRP £15.90). I know I say this every time but I’m never going to let it go…why do we constantly get shampoo and conditioners without their partners?! I find this SO frustrating! But anyway, this claims to be a gentle, natural hair treatment…I’ve used it once and it seems to work fine (but how do I know it’s not my mis-matched conditioner doing all the work huh?). I’m going to save the rest of this for my next trip away so I don’t need to take up valuable bag space with a full sized shampoo.

The final and only make-up product in my box is the Wander Beauty Bronzer in shade Costa Rei (Full size RRP £12). I haven’t actually opened this as the last thing I need is another bronzer so rather than it going to waste I am going to give it away. It’s very small so not the easiest to get an even application on my big fluffy brush but this would be handy for popping in your bag when out and about. I’ve looked into this and it seems to have mixed reviews with some loving the shade and even application…and others finding it much too light and an odd colour. I’ll leave you guys to decide your verdict on this on your own.

So there we have it for September…I can’t say this was my favourite box, there was only one full sized item and it was a bit of a dull addition. There wasn’t anything that excited me this month…my favourite items were the body cream and the face oil, although I don’t think I’ll repurchase either. I’ll still get use out of the facial buffer and the shampoo but unfortunately not the bronzer.
