November & December Glossybox 2021

So, I am seriously behind schedule with the beauty box posts, with delayed dispatches, Storm Arwen cutting our power off for a week and December festivities in general, I’ve cut myself some slack and am bringing you both November and December’s boxes to you just before we see the year out! I was pretty impressed with both Glossybox offerings over the past two months and they were crammed with so many goodies, as well as December’s gorgeous navy box design which I will definitely be keeping. But I’ve left you waiting long enough, let’s get to the good stuff.

November’s Glossybox was jam packed (although part of the reason for this was due to the delays receiving my boxes over the past few months) and there were some products that I recognised as well as some new additions that I was excited to try!

Starting with make-up, I was very happy to see the e.l.f. Bite Sized Eyeshadows in Berry Bad (RRP £4). This little palette consists of four shades, a mixture of matte and shimmer, and as you may have guessed, are deeper berry shades (perfect for the winter months). The shadows apply really smoothly, blend together well and last for ages with no creasing. The palette size is also perfect for on the go and can easily be slipped into a handbag or clutch…I was so impressed with this considering the bargain price!

Next up is the Vita Liberata Blur Luminosity in Gold (RRP £25). I love the tanning formulas from this brand but this was the first time I’d seen part of their make-up range…I had high hopes! This is a cream highlighter which can be used on the face and body to add luminosity. First of all, a little goes a long way so apply sparingly…I found this out the hard way! But once I got it right, I absolutely loved this…it leaves the most beautiful glow and is perfect for party season. I will definitely be using this again!

Glossybox also provided a make-up applicator in the form of the Karina Beauty Blender (RRP £8.50). I have to say I feel pretty loyal to my original beauty blender so this had some big shoes to fill and unfortunately it just didn’t quite cut the mustard. To be fair, this is definitely not a bad product…I just didn’t find it as soft and easy to use as the OG. This did apply make-up smoothly, I also used it to apply the Vita Liberata highlighter and was pretty impressed. I’ll continue to use my Beauty Blender for my foundation but I think I’ll still use this for cream blush or highlighter etc…plus, you can never have too many of these lying around.

Moving on we have the Human + Kind Moisturising Hand Scrub in Elderflower & Raspberry (RRP £12.85). This is a perfect addition for this time of year when hands are exposed to the cold weather and need some extra TLC. This scrub contains shea butter and sunflower oil to gently cleanse skin as well as dried raspberry seeds and hydrated silicia to exfoliate, leaving hands feeling super soft and moisturised. It also smells SO GOOD! The tube is also a good size and should last me through the rest of winter.

The next product out the box is a deluxe mini Commodity Paper fragrance…I’m still confused by this but I’ll try my best. First of all I’m just going to have to go word for word on Glossybox’s card as this means nothing to me but apparently this product is part of Commodity’s Personal Scent Space Collection, Paper – is an intimate skin scent that embodies the concept of less is more…okaaaaay. I think all you need to know is that it smells nice.

Last but not least was my extra treat, the CEL MD: Thickening Shampoo…now usually I’d go on a rant about how annoying it is to receive a shampoo or conditioner without it’s matching partner but seeing as this was a wee bonus, I’ll give them a break this time. However, I do have to admit that I haven’t tried this yet, purely because I would rather wait until I can get a conditioner to use with it. It is a big bottle though and should last for a while, plus I need all the volume I can get so I am actually really looking forward to trying it.

All in all I really liked November’s Glossybox, I loved the eyeshadow palette and the cream highlighter in particular but there wasn’t a single product that I disliked and I will get use out of everything in the box. I’m also very much looking forward to trying the shampoo!

And now to December’s box which was another corker. First of all, the navy tin is super pretty and will be a perfect storage box…secondly, this was another box that was packed full of goodies!

First up, we have a full sized LASplash Midnight Glow Face Palette (RRP £25). This pretty palette contains four shades of blush, bronzer and highlighter and is perfect for carrying on the go. The shades are all super wearable and they blend in easily leaving a pretty finish. Love! Also how amazing is this packaging?!

I also received the Spectrum Collections B08 Magic Wand Brush (RRP £8.99). As always with this brand, the brush is so pretty, a deep navy handle with gold detail…however, I must admit, I wasn’t really sure how I would use this. Apparently it’s a highlighter brush but I find it a bit too small for my liking…but also too large to apply eyeshadow. I’ll definitely find a job for it though as it’s too pretty not to use.

One product that needs no introduction is the Elemis Superfood Glow Priming Moisturiser (Deluxe mini RRP £15). This claims to moisturise and illuminate and can be used as a moisturiser or a primer (or both). I hadn’t actually tried this before and was very much looking forward to giving it a go. This is super moisturising and left my skin feeling soft and refreshed (although I can’t say I noticed a brightening effect). My make-up also applied smoothly and stayed on all day so it certainly works well as a primer too. I can’t really justify the price tag to use this on a regular basis but it would make a great treat yo’self purchase!

All subscribers received one of four full sized ESPA Hand Balms (RRP £15). I received the Eucalyptus and Tea Tree version which wouldn’t have been my first choice of fragrance but I’m certainly not complaining. I did find the tea tree a little overpowering (hence why it wasn’t my first choice) but the balm itself felt really nourishing and left my hands feeling seriously soft! It does take a little while to sink in but it’s definitely worth it.

Next out the box was the Beautypro Retinol Under Eye Patch (RRP £1.95). I absolutely love eye masks and these wee beauties claim to brighten eyes and reduce fine lines (yes please). They stayed in place well and I could walk around while wearing them (although I still prefer to be horizontal). I definitely felt that my eyes looked refreshed and a bit brighter but not necessarily any difference to the lines (booo). However, for less than 2 quid, I was very happy with these and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

Last but not least, I received two extra little treats. The first being a sachet of Bon Parfumeur fragrance…I don’t know how to describe scents so I will just say it smells very nice! The second bonus item was a square of Lindt sea salt chocolate…I would never complain about free chocolate and it tasted absolutely divine!

So that’s it for December’s box and I think you will agree, it was fantastic value for money. My favourite products were the Elemis moisturiser and the LASplash palette. I wasn’t blown away by the make-up brush but only because I haven’t really found a use for it yet. But all in all, I wasn’t unhappy with anything in this box and also appreciated the extra little touches this month. So that’s pretty much it from me and I’ll catch you all in 2022!
