February Birchbox 2022

I don’t think I managed to get January’s Birchbox post done but I can’t be bothered writing it now so we will just have to forget about that one (it wasn’t the best and you didn’t miss out on much) and let’s swiftly move on to Feb. I always find February boxes more fun than January’s…less focus on detoxing and recovery yada yada. This month’s theme is ‘Choose Love’ and features a super colourful heart design which I love! The contents have a good mix of full sized and trial sized items (I sometimes find BB to be a bit mean with their product sizes so this was a bonus) and there were lots of new finds for me!

I’ll start with my favourite product, a full sized INC.redible Jelly Shot in It Was Only a Kiss (Full sized RRP £8). I’d seen this around and always thought it looked so pretty with the little flower inside. However, mine was very cloudy looking so I could just see the outline, so that was disappointing…I don’t know if I got a dud or if this is what they are all like but it definitely took away from the look and fun aspect of the product. Anyway, the balm itself is lovely and leaves my lips feeling soft and moisturised without feeling sticky. The packaging is also pretty robust so I don’t need to worry about it rattling around in my handbag. All in all, disappointed with the look but very happy with the results.

Next up is another full sized product, the Revolution Pro Correcting Primer in Radiant Peach (Full sized RRP £7). I don’t tend to use colour correctors but apparently this shade is perfect for covering dark circles, pigmentation and/or age spots. First of all, I love the packaging, the peach colour is very Spring and I am pretty much ready for winter to be over now (unless we are going to get some fluffy snow soon). The primer itself is nice and light and leaves my skin looking a bit healthier than usual as well as providing a nice make-up base. I’m not completely sold…I’m not sure why, but I’m still going to keep using it…I may still be converted.

Moving on to skincare, we have the Vasanti Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvinator (Full Sized RRP £26). I hadn’t heard of this brand before and this product is described as a deep-cleansing exfoliator which uses papaya enzymes, aloe vera and micro crystals to gently slough away dirt, even skin tone and reduce fine lines…sounds good to me! I have to admit, I don’t get excited by exfoliators but this pleasantly surprised me. I thought it was going to be too harsh at first but actually it wasn’t at all and it left my skin feeling so soft and smooth but not at all irritated. I’ll definitely use this until the end of the bottle…although as much I like it, I probably won’t pay full price.

Next up is the Dr Botanicals Lemon Superfood All-in-One Rescue Butter (Full Sized RRP £14.90). I wasn’t sure what this was at first…actually I still don’t think I am now, but it has loads of lovely ingredients such as lemongrass, coconut, almond, grapeseed and sea buckthorn fruit oil…so you can bet your ass it smells amazing! I’ve been using this as a regular body butter…it is pretty thick and takes a bit of working in which isn’t ideal but it certainly leaves skin feeling very soft and moisturised, although I’m guessing it would maybe be better for very dry skin. All in all it’s a really nice product, smells great and the colourful bottle looks awesome too.

Last but certainly not least is the Sukin Natural Balance Leave-in Conditioner (Full sized RRP £7.95). I love the skincare from this brand but had never tried anything from the haircare range and my dry ends have been crying out for something like this! This is made from natural ingredients including horsetail, burdock & nettle (interesting combination) and claims to nourish and smooth hair while tackling frizz and tangles. The first thing I noticed was the scent…it smells really nice and fresh, not as perfumey (is that a word?) as my usual products and it was a nice change. The product itself felt lightweight and didn’t weigh my hair down or leave it looking lank and greasy. I wouldn’t say it’s as effective as other leave in conditioners that I’ve tried but it certainly left my hair feeling nice and soft.

So that’s February’s offering done and dusted. I was really happy with this month’s Birchbox, I felt that there were a lot more bigger sized products than usual which I definitely appreciated as I find they can often be a bit underwhelming in this area. My favourite products from this box were the lip balm and the exfoliator but I actually liked everything and there’s nothing I won’t get use out of which is a big win.
