February Glossybox 2022

So January felt like it ran on for about 20 weeks whereas February has felt like 20 minutes! Where the hell did the last 28 days go?! One bonus is, another month means another beauty box. February’s Glossybox theme was ‘Timelss Treats’ and came in two different designs…a black or white box rather than the usual pastel pink. I received the black design and an added Illiamasqua treat as I signed up again after my last subscription ended – score.

Starting with a full sized product, we have the Vegan by Happy Skin Essence Toner (Full sized RRP £34.99). I haven’t actually tried this yet as I am almost finished my current toner and want to get it out the way before starting a new one. However, I was very happy to see this in this month’s box as I didn’t have another on stand by. This is full of natural ingredients such as aloe vera juice, chamomile and calendula and is also cruelty free! Hopefully my skin agrees with this as it’s a generous sized bottle!

Moving on to make-up and my least favourite product this month is the The Beauty Crop B.F.F Brow Gel (Full sized RRP £5). I literally just fill in my brows and go, so this is not a product I will get any use out of…however in the name of research I gave it a go. Yes it held my brows in place (although they are far from unruly) and didn’t look to slick so I’m guessing it does it’s job fairly well? I’ll pass on this one though.

Moving on, we have the Illamasqua Liquid Eyeliner (Full sized RRP £21). This is a nice, neat little pen which doesn’t take up much space in your make-up bag. I liked the fine nib and it was easy (well, as easy as it can be) to add some feline flicks. It’s maybe not the blackest formula at first swipe but easily buildable and more importantly, stays in place once on! Thumbs up 🙂

I received another Illamasqua as a freebie for signing up this month and I got the Hydra Veil Mini (Full sized RRP £34). I have tried this primer before and the jelly texture definitely takes some getting used to…it’s not like any primer I have used before. It does apply easily though, provides a smooth base for make-up and seems to keep everything in place. My only minor niggle is, I’d prefer something a touch more moisturising…I sometimes feel like my skin feels a bit dry after a while.

I was very excited to see a product from Rituals which I hadn’t tried yet…the Ritual of Mehr Hair & Body Mist (Full sized RRP £17.50). As with all of Rituals products, this smells amazing, with a sweet orange and cedar wood fragrance. I’m not actually sure if it does anything other than make you smell nice but hey, I’m happy with that. I probably wouldn’t buy this product for myself but would still be very pleased to receive as a gift. Seriously, with Rituals, it’s very hard, if not impossible to go wrong (in my own, non-professional opinion).

The last item out of this month’s box was the We Are Paradox 3 in 1 Conditioner (Full sized RRP £20). This is a brand I’ve heard of but never tried and I’m always on the look out for a good hair mask (I still haven’t found the one), so I was intrigued by this. The 3 in 1 element is that this can be used as a conditioner, hair mask and/or finishing creme…I was unsure as I’m always weary of 2 in 1 products, never mind 3 in 1 but I was pleasantly surprised. This left my hair feeling really soft and smooth as well as a bit easier to manage (long hair equals lots of knots)…I’d say it works well as both a conditioner and a mask, but I will admit I haven’t tried it as a finishing creme. Is it the one? No probably not, but I am very much enjoying it and will definitely be using up until the last drop.

So there we have it, February’s Glossybox in all it’s glory. I was much happier with this month’s offering than January’s and there was a great mix of full sized and trial sized items. My favourite products this month were the eyeliner, hair mask and the hair and body mist…I’m also feeling hopeful about the toner. As for the brow gel, it was a dud for me but that’s the risk you take with subscription boxes and I’m sure someone else will enjoy it. Great value as always and I am eagerly awaiting March already!
