Spring is well and truly here and what better way to celebrate than with a new Birchbox! This month’s theme is all about feeding your skin, so as you can imagine, this is a fairly skin and body care centred box…and that’s not something I’m complaining about. I loved the colourful, avocado design on the box and there were a couple of full sized items which was a nice surprise. But enough chit chat, let’s get to the good stuff…
Seeing as the theme is all about feeding the skin, I’ll start with the obvious…skincare. First out the box we have Dr.Eve_Ryouth Vitamin C Night Moisturiser (Full size RRP £59.99). I was delighted to see this in this month’s box as my night cream ran out the week before so this arrived at the perfect time. This claims to brighten and plump skin and contains Vitamin C and Hyaluronic acid. For a night cream, I found this quite light and on it’s own, I’m not sure I’d find it quite moisturising enough, but mixed with a couple of drops of oil and it left my skin feeling soft and nourished. I can’t say I’ve noticed any brightening effects yet but there’s still time. As for the price tag? At £59.99, I would expect something a little more luxurious.

Next up is a full sized Beauty Pro Turmeric Infused Sheet Mask (RRP £4.95). This just shows that you don’t need to spend a fortune to pamper yourself. I know we should all be hating on sheet masks nowadays but I have to admit I do still like to apply one every now and then. This mask claims to repair skin, brighten dark circles and reduce fine lines (yes, yes and yes). As with all sheet masks, I had to cut it around the eyes and nose to get it to fit comfortably but I don’t see that as an issue. I left on for 20 mins before removing and smoothing the leftover serum into my skin. Was there a visible difference? Not really, but my skin felt refreshed and bright as well as super soft so yes, I would definitely recommend…perfect for a pamper session.

Next out the box is the Polaar Hand Cream – The Genuine Lapland Cream with 3 Arctic Berries (Full size RRP £13.90). I’ve received a few Polaar items in previous beauty boxes and have always been very impressed so I had high hopes for this! Thankfully, I wasn’t disappointed and my hands have been feeling super smooth since I opened the tube! It’s a fairly thick consistency but sinks in really quickly and doesn’t leave hands feeling sticky or slippery, just soft soft soft! The scent is also to die for! I would buy this just for the scent alone if I had the chance. Love it!

Moving on to haircare we have the We Are Paradoxx Game Changer Hair Mask (Full size RRP £18) and my hair really is in need of a game changing hair mask! This treatment can be left in for as long as you want before rinsing but because my hair is so long and is a pain in the butt to wash and dry, I just left it in for about 20 minutes before rinsing out. It claims to strengthen strands as well as add shine which is what my hair desperately needs and I have to say, it definitely did leave my hair feeling fabulous. It felt so soft after washing and definitely more manageable but I can’t say I noticed much of a difference in shine. Saying that, I will definitely consider buying the full sized tub once I’ve finished this one.

Last but not least is the sole make-up product in this month’s box and it is unfortunately a product I have received multiple times before. As much as I do enjoy using this product, there are only so many tubes I can get through (I currently have 3 and am still not even half way through the first). A little goes a long way so even though the tube looks tiny, they last FOREVER! I love the colour…it looks a bit bright and scary at first but once applied it leaves a gorgeous, natural flush of colour. I will probably give this particular tube away, not because I don’t love the product but because I have enough of this stuff to last me about 2 years!

And there we have it, April’s box done and dusted…who can believe we are almost in May already?! I was a bit worried about this box being skincare heavy and dare I say it, boring…but I actually really liked the products and there wasn’t anything that I didn’t like. My top choices would have to be the hair mask and hand cream, although the blush would also be in that line up if I didn’t already have so many!
