May Glossybox 2022

Another delayed post…this might just become the norm from now on! Anyway, I’m going to make this one short and sweet…May’s theme was Perfectly Imperfect, I’m not really sure how to relate products to that but the long and short of it is that none of us are prefect so just be you! The box design was also very cute…an orange box with a big red heart rather than the usual pink (which I also love). As usual with GB there were a good selection of full sized and trial sized products and a variety of items.

First out the box is a full sized Daily Concepts Body Scrubber (RRP £16). I originally groaned when I thought this was another reusable face pad but it turned out to be a silicone scrubby pad with teeny little bumps on it, to massage and cleanse the body. I used this with both shower gel and exfoliator and although it felt a little odd at first, my skin did feel nice and soft afterwards. Other than that I’m not sure there’s much else I can say about this little tool other than I’ll keep using it.

Sticking to the scrubbing products, we have a deluxe sample of the MineTan Coffee Scrub (Full sized RRP £12.95). I actually did groan when I received this but not because it’s a rubbish product, I just really hate coffee scrubs…the mess is unbearable! I haven’t actually tried this but only because I have used this product before and I will say that it leaves my skin feeling seriously, seriously soft! The results are awesome and I wish I could bring myself to use this on a regular basis. However, I genuinely cannot stand the aftermath of coffee scrubs…the granules get EVERYWHERE, and I swear it takes longer to clean the mess up than it does to take the shower! Great product, just not for someone that has zero patience like me.

Moving on to skincare, we have another deluxe sample in the form of Balance Me BHA Exfoliating Concentrate (Full sized RRP £26). This is a chemical exfoliator which claims to remove dead skin cells, tackle blackheads and spots, revealing hydrated and brighter looking skin. First of all, I have to be quite careful with acids as my sensitive skin likes to freak out but this didn’t cause any reaction at all (yay). I can’t say I have noticed any visible difference but I haven’t been using it that long so I can’t really complain…I’ll keep going and hopefully I’ll be glowing and radiant in a few weeks.

My favourite product from the box (which also happens to be the cheapest) was the full sized Grace & Stella Everything is Better in Pink Eye Patches (RRP £3). These pink gel masks claim to firm and hydrate the under eye area as well as improving skin texture. I wore these for 20 minutes and they stayed put really well, although it is a good excuse to have a quick lie down! My eyes felt refreshed afterwards and I definitely felt that my eye area looked brighter and any lines less pronounced. No I didn’t look drastically different and the results were just temporary but you can’t expect anything long term, especially for under a fiver. I loved these masks and will definitely use them again…and they are correct…everything is better in pink!

Last but not least was another full sized product, the Sophia + Mabelle Cream Stick Blush in the shade ‘Blossoming’ (RRP £13). This is a pretty pink shade and just the kind of colour I would wear. I did find the consistency a little sticky but found if I applied to the heels of my hands and pressed it into my skin that way it went on more evenly. It is quite bright so a little goes a long way, I prefer to layer it up until I get the desired colour. However, I do find that this doesn’t last as long as my powder blusher, so definitely need to carry with me for top ups on the go!

And there we have it, May’s box finally done and dusted! I really liked this box and there were a few products that I will definitely use again. I loved the eye masks and will continue to use the exfoliating concentrate, blusher and silicone scrubber…although I am still unsure if I will repurchase any of these going forward. The only item I won’t get use out of is the coffee scrub – although I will state again that it is actually a fabulous product and I love the results…I just can’t cope with the clean up operation afterwards!
