The longest day has passed…is it too early to talk about Christmas? Yeah, okay I won’t do that…June’s Glossybox theme is Summer Rendevous and the products inside are inpsired by classic summer beauty looks…although here in Scotland it feels like we have barely seen summer yet due to the wind and rain (currently writing this in the middle of a thunderstorm) so if everyone could do a little sun dance, I would be very grateful. As with last month, I found this box to be quite skincare heavy but I did enjoy this one more.
I’ll start with skincare as there were a few products in this remit… and first off is the Dr Eve Ryouth Vitamin C & Hyaluronic Acid Moisturiser (RRP £59.99). This is a night moisturiser and contains Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid, Argan oil& Rose oil and claims to brighten and plump skin. I actually already had a tube of this so knew that I liked it and certainly wasn’t disappointed to see another seeing as it is quite spenny. I mix this with a couple of drops oil before bed and it leaves my skin feeling super soft. Is it worth sixty quid? I wouldn’t say so…I’ve used cheaper products that have worked just as well but I’ll definitely be using this until the last drop.

Next up is the Philosophy Purity Cleanser (Full size RRP £24.75). This is aimed at those with normal to dry skin which I would say is a category that I fall into. Containing Meadowfoam seed oil and Rosewood oil, this claims to not only cleanse skin but also tone and hydrate (I’ll be the judge of that). I took this handy little bottle away on our minimoon (yep I finally bit the bullet and got married) as it is the perfect travel size. My first thoughts were that it is quite hard to get out…I had to bang it on my hand a good few times before I could squeeze any product out, which is annoying but nothing too major. It didn’t irritate my skin or eyes so I could go to town when it came to removing eye make-up and my face didn’t felt dry or tight afterwards. However, I do have one big gripe with this cleanser and that is that even after double cleansing, I always ended up leaving orange stains on the towels afterwards so it clearly can’t cope with a full face of make-up like others I have used. So all in all, as nice as it is, I wouldn’t repurchase for this reason alone (although I will say it is still a very nice cleanser).

Moving on, we have the Greenfrog Botanics Mini Soap Bar in Lemon Grass (RRP £3). This wee bar of soap contains 100% vegetable fats and 90% natural ingredients (it’s also vegan FYI). We all know that we should be moving from plastic packaged liquid soaps to environmentally friendly alternatives but I do plead guilty to still buying those offending items. However, I have received a couple of bars of soap in beauty boxes and I can confirm that I have been using them, so thank you Glossybox for keeping me on the right track. This soap smells delightfully citrusy and doesn’t dry out my hands. Is there anything else I can say about hand soap? Other than I can only assume it leaves my hands clean as well?

My favourite item in this month’s box is the L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream (Travel size RRP £8, full size RRP £22). I love hand cream anyway but these are always top tier…my hands literally feel SO SOFT after using this and the scent is gorgeous. I literally don’t even care what the ingredients are in this! No sticky mitts here, just soft, silky hands. The packaging is also very nice. LOVE!!

Yay make-up! The sole make-up item in June’s box is the Ciate Bamboo Bronzer (Full sized RRP £24). This is super cute and the perfect size for on the go (although a bit of a pain in the butt to get an evenly covered brush due to being teeny) and I found it applied pretty evenly, although a bit orange if not careful. It’s not as pigmented as my favourite Beauty Pie bronzer but very handy to have and I’ll be carrying this around in my handbag from now on. Just be careful when trying to pick up product onto a brush, I found that I sometimes ended up with way too much powder…although this may be due to the size and may not be so much of a problem with the full sized product.

There we have it, June’s Glossybox done and dusted. I did really like the products this month…I loved the hand cream and was super happy to see the night cream as I was already using it and will continue to do so. I’ll also get use out of everything else including the cleanser (maybe just on no make-up days). Although I have to say I usually find Glossybox very generous with the size of some products whereas I felt this month they were all quite small. I’ll let it slide though, seeing as this is the first time I’ve thought this. All in all another great box with fab products.
