June Birchbox 2022

Damn, I so thought I would have got this post up before July but once again time ran away with me! The theme for June’s Birchbox is All Bodies are Good Bodies and celebrates the fact that we all have different bodies – different shapes, sizes and colours and we should take care of our unique selves. As usual, there is a good range of products and some new brands as well as familiar faces.

I’m going to start with the only full sized product which also happened to be my favourite and that is the MCo Beauty Long Lasting Lipstick in the shade Petal (RRP £12). I have used lipsticks from this brand before and love the creamy finish so I was excited to see this. The pinky/ nude shade is right up my street, the texture is smooth and creamy, the colour packs a punch and it doesn’t dry out my lips. Big tick from me.

Moving onto skincare we have the Ultrasun Face SPF 30 (Full sized RRP £22). I wear SPF every day rain or shine so this was another product that I was happy to receive, although I do prefer to wear SPF 50 on my face. This particular product claims to not only provide sun protection but also hydrates skin. I liked that this applied smoothly and didn’t leave any white cast on my face, plus it left my skin feeling soft and smooth. It was a small bottle so is already gone but I enjoyed it while it lasted and would use again but I’d personally go for a higher SPF.

Next up is the Naobay Hyaluronic Hemp Rechage Splash (Full sized RRP £13). I’ve used products from this brand before and really liked them so was intrigued by this…although I’ve still not quite figured out what it is. Is it a toner? Is it for general hydration? Who knows. It contains Hyaluronic acid, Cannabis extract and Vegetable glycerin and is described as a gentle mist for throughout the day. For me, these kind of products feel a bit unnecessary but I applied during the day when I felt like I needed a bit of a refresh and it did leave my skin feeling soft and energized.

Moving onto bodycare, we have the Nuxe Revitalising Granular Scrub (Full sized RRP £18.50). I don’t tend to use a body scrub very often…it’s something that I always plan to do and yet never quite get round to it so this at least gave me a bit of motivation. This scrub contains Green tea and Bamboo and claims to remove impurities and soften skin. It has a nice scent which made for a pleasant experience and the gritty bits aren’t too harsh but rough enough to leave skin feeling soft and smooth. Probably not something I’ll will purchase again but that’s down to my laziness rather than a problem with the product itself.

Last buy not least and something I regularly complain about…a conditioner without the accompanying shampoo! Ughhhh whyyyyyy?? I think they do this on purpose. But anyway, we have the Morning Street – Argan & Marula Conditioner (Full sized RRP £16.90). This contains Argan oil and marula oil to add moisture and shine to hair. First of all, I love the scent…it is strong so if that’s not something you like then this maybe isn’t for you but I love it! I did find that my hair felt soft and manageable after use but as always, I would have appreciated the chance to try it with it’s partner.

And there we have June’s offering…a pretty good box in my opinion. I loved the lipstick, it was definitely my favourite product and I loved that it was full size. I will also get use out of everything else in this box and will consider purchasing the suncream and the shampoo and conditioner. I’m already looking forward to July’s box which shouldn’t be too far away!
