September Glossybox 2022

Here we go again, Autumn is here and while everyone else is looking forward to changing leaves and pumpkin spiced everything, I can’t say I’m looking forward to the colder weather…I’m already wearing a coat indoors! This month’s theme is ‘Golden Hour’ with products to ‘enhance that summer glow throughout the rest of the year’ and with the changing temperature, I’ll be amping up the body care as my skin tends to get drier in the colder months! This month’s box is bursting with goodies so let’s get to it and start unboxing.

I’ll start with make-up this month and first out the box, we have a full sized Teeze Cosmetics To Die For Eyeshadow (RRP £12.50). This is a vegan, powder shadow in a very glowy champagne shade. It’s shimmery but not sparkly and looks really pretty either by itself or blended with other shades for a more out there look. I also tried this as a highlighter and found that it worked pretty well, a nice hint of shimmer without being too much.

Next up is another full sized product, the Brow Atelier Brow Soap (£16.84). Now I’ll be honest, this isn’t really a product I have every used…I am very much a fill in and go kind of gal but in the name of research, I gave it a go. This is what it says on the tin…a solid soaplike substance and following instructions, I added a couple of drops of water into it before swirling the brush and applying to my brows. I actually think this is probably a much better product than I can give it credit for…my skills are more than likely just lacking. Part of the problem is that my brows are very sparse after the arch so although I managed to get a full fluffy looking brow for the first half…the latter half just looked a bit odd which isn’t the look I was going for. However, I’m going to say this isn’t a bad product, I’m just too much of a beginner to do it justice.

The third and final (and another full sized) make-up product is the Bellapierre Banana Pressed Setting Powder (RRP £19). This is another product I don’t tend to use so be prepared for another amateur review! This is a colour correcting powder with a yellow hue which claims to cover any redness, discoloration and dark spots. It also claims to be very light and not cakey…which is the exact problem I have encountered with powders in the past. I will admit, it did seem to be very fine and light so didn’t leave any tell tale residue over my make-up…however, as the day went on, I did feel that my skin looked quite dry (thoughthis could also be due to the cold weather). I am going to persevere with this and see how I get on but on first impression, I’m not blown away.

Subscribers also received an extra make-up treat in the form of a 3-shade sample of Glowish by Huda Beauty MultiDew Skin Tone (Full sized RRP £34). I had been wanting to try this for ages so was delighted to have the opportunity to try a few shades. This is described as a skin tint – brightens skin and blurs pores while providing a light, illuminating coverage. I have to say I was very impressed with this; it covered my blemishes and pores but not my freckles (yes I am one of the few who actually likes their freckles)…perfect for non to light make-up days!

Moving on to skincare, we have a deluxe sized Balance Me Radiance Facial Oil (RRP £15, Full sized RRP £30). I have actually used this product before and really loved it so I was pleased to see this in my box. This oil is contains 8 oil extracts and claims to reduce the appearance of fine lines, scarring, pigmentation and redness. I mix a couple of drops with my night cream before bed and it leaves my skin feeling SO SOFT!! No breakouts, just velvety soft skin until morning. LOVE!

Next out the box is the Garnier Ultra Lift Eye Sheet Mask. These masks are infused with green tea extract and hyaluronic acid and claims to hydrate, plump the eye area as well as reduce the appearance of crows feet. I know sheet masks are a big no no but I have to admit to indulging on occasion. These eye masks feel nice and soothing and didn’t slip and slide down my face. I definitely noticed that my eyes looked brighter and refreshed after use (although temporarily). I’d absolutely use these again, especially before a night out or special occasion.

I received one hair product this month and it is by one of my favourite brands…although the only slight dampner is that it’s a shampoo but no conditioner. Anyway, a deluxe sized Rituals Mehr Nourishing Shampoo (RRP £4.50, Full sized RRP £12.50). This claims to intensely moisturise hair leaving it healthy and shiny but without weighing it down (always the dream). First of all, as with all Rituals products, this smells absolutely heavenly! Second of all, yes it did leave my hair feeling very nice, however, as I had to use it with a different conditioner I can’t say how exactly how much was down to the shampoo. If I want to treat myself though, I won’t hestitate to buy this duo…even if just for the scent alone.

As a final treat this month I received a sample of the Clean Co Gin alternative (Full sized RRP £19). I’ll be honest, I haven’t tried this yet as I think I’ll save it for a night when I’m on driving duty but I have heard it’s a decent substitute for the real thing.

So that’s it for September’s box and what a jam packed box it was! Lots of full sized products and not one but two extra treats this month, I was very a very happy camper. My favourite products would have to be the face oil, eye masks and the shampoo (yep, even without the conditioner). Although I wasn’t sold on the brow soap or the pressed powder, I’m still going to persevere with them and hopefully I’ll manage to nail the technique! I also loved the extra treats this month, nobody can complain about extra goodies.
