Ooooh it’s Halloween month…although completely irrelevant now as we are into November (I’m waiting until after bonfire night before thinking about Christmas)! October’s theme was ‘Written in the Stars’ and subscribers received either a fancy looking pink or green box design…I got the pink which I was very happy with and it looks amazing (definitely one to keep as a storage box). The theme was all stuff to do with Astrology which isn’t something I take any interest in (can you tell?) but as always an excellent array of goodies and a mix of full and trial sizes…but definitely more glam than spooky!
I’m going to start with the body products as I received a couple in this month’s box – First up is by one of my favourite brands, the Percy & Reed Volumising Dry Shampoo (RRP £7.50, Full sized RRP £15). I am always happy to see anything volumising as my hair is as flat as a pancake…I’m also too lazy to wash it on a regular basis so this hits two birds with one stone! This product claims to refresh hair without weighing it down whilst adding a bit of a volume boost. As with all P&R products (or at least those that I’ve tried), the scent is gorgeous and leaves hair smelling almost perfumed. It left my hair looking clean and fresh without leaving any tell-tale white powdery residue and actually did give a noticeable bit of oomph at the roots. Another winner for Percy & Reed!

Next up is the Naobay Restore & Nourish Hair Mask…now I don’t know if I received this by accident, but I can’t find any information on this product either online or through Glossybox, but hey, it’s a brand I like so no complaints here. This was a fairly small bottle and with hair as long as mine, it didn’t last too long…however, I can say this worked very well for me. The scent is lovely, not too strong but lingers on hair for a while afterwards. It left my dry ends feeling super soft and manageable, although no extra shine that I could see. Not the best hair mask I’ve used but certainly a lot better than many…shame you can’t seem to find it anywhere to buy!

Moving on to bodycare we have the BubbleT Neroli & Tangerine Body Wash (RRP £9.99). I receive quite a lot of shower gels and body washes but am always happy to see them as they are such a necessity and will always get used. The packaging is very striking, a deep pinky/purple tube with quite a dramatic design…it would definitely catch my eye on the shelf. Firstly, I loved the scent of this…not too sweet but with a refreshing citrusy kick (I love a scented shower gel). It foams up nicely and left my skin feeling clean, soft and smelling great…what more can you ask for?

Another product which I was very happy to see was the Beauty Pro Warming Eye Mask (1 mask RRP £5, Full sized set of 5 RRP £11.95). I LOVE a heated eye mask – they are so relaxing and a lifesaver if you have a sore head. This particular mask is infused with a chamomile scent which makes it even better for a chilled pamper session (good luck staying awake). It also claims to give a smooth uplifted appearance to the eye area which I’m not overly convinced about. I wore this one evening when I had a sore head and was struggling to sleep and it made me feel so much better…it stays warm for around 20 minutes but I was asleep before I made it to that point. Love love LOVE!

Another eye product I received this month was the BYBI Eye Plump Bakuchiol Eye Cream (RRP £20). This claims to ‘banish lines, wrinkles and dry skin around the eyes’ , which I think is very bold considering I’ve never come across an eye cream that has managed this. Either way, I gave it a go and it has a nice, fairly light texture that sinks in quickly and left my eyes feeling refreshed and moisturised. I can’t say I’ve noticed any visible difference (is there ever?) but I’m going to keep using it anyway as it is still a nice eye cream (I think it just got a bit too cocky with its promises).

The final item from this box is the Steve Laurant Lip Oil (RRP £16). As always with this brand, the packaging is super cute, a rose gold coloured box which I always think looks gorgeous. The oil itself looks very dark pink but once on the lips it just leaves a lovely, natural shine. It feels super moisturising and isn’t too sticky (although not great on a windy day if you have hair as long as mine. This is perfect for keeping in a handbag either for dry lips or just an added hit of shine.

So there we have October’s box, a lot of good products as always. I think my favourite items this month would have to be the Percy & Reed dry shampoo and the Beauty Pro eye mask but I’ll get use out of everything in this box which is always a bonus. Until next time,
