And here we are again, not long after my June post, I have managed to pull myself together and get another one done before the month is out! July’s Glossybox theme is Summer Escape and has us dreaming of far away places and exotic holidays. Glossy subscribers will receive 6 items in this month’s box (yep, an extra treat this month), all of which are suitable for taking on your holidays, wherever that may be. There are alos 3 box designs this month, all from previous editions (and all equally pretty). So, let’s see what this month has to offer…
I’m going to start with hair products this month as finally…FINALLY…we have a shampoo and conditioner duo!! I’m sure it will be a one off but I am so happy to have finally received a pair in a beauty box! I received the We Are Paradoxx Volume Shampoo & Conditioner (Deluxe size RRP £9.25 each). These are infused with hops, nettle extract, Babassu oil and matcha green tea to give bounce, volume and shine ( just what the doctor ordered). These definitely left my hair feeling soft, bouncy with a bit more volume than usual. They don’t weigh hair down and also smell fanbloodytastic! Definitely recommend if you have flat, lifeless hair, like me.

Moving on to make-up, I received the Revolution Highlighter (RRP £3). Now as much as I love a highlighter, I was disappointed with this…I received the shade shine which is a very light champagne/gold colour. I found this was just too light for me and didn’t blend very well which made it look a bit too obvious on my skin. The packaging is also very flimsy and cheap looking…I’m almost certain this would smash in my handbag in no time. Unfortunately this is a hard no from me.

We can only go up from there and thankfully, it’s all the way up as I received a full sized Bondi Sands SPF50+ Lip Balm in Tropical Mango (RRP £4.99). I wear SPF religiously every single day but often forget about my lips so this is the perfect product for me! It has a nice scent and mango flavour, plus it leaves lips feeling super soft and moisturised. Not much else I can say other than this will be living in my handbag from now on.

Next up we have the Huygens Organic Face Scrub (Deluxe Size RRP £7.50). This scrub is made from rice powder particles and natural sesame oil to nourish and purify skin. I’ve actually used this before and enjoyed it so was pleased to see this in this month’s box. Gentle on skin but abrasive enough to leave my face feeling soft and smooth (not irritated), this is perfect for using a couple of times a week for a glowy complexion (okay I’m not glowing but it certainly feels nice).

Last out the box is another product I have tried before and that is the Aurikah Fragrance Mist (Full size RRP £18). I wasn’t sure what this was when I received it the first time around but am up to speed now…a body mist (yep those things from the noughties). This is described as an ‘Island Escape in a bottle’ and I can see why…the scent does transport you to a remote beach somewhere…fresh and tropical. This is definitely more sophisticated than the body sprays of old and I will use this until I reach the end of the bottle…however, I don’ think it is a product I will repurchase as I’d rather just stick with my regular perfume.

So there we have July’s box…a bit of a mixed bag for me this month. I loved the shampoo and conditioner and the lip balm and I will also use the face scrub and body fragrance. However, the highlighter was very much a no from me, though you can’t like everything. This was a great selection of holiday inspired pieces and the box design was super pretty as always. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this month’s box!
