Well, it’s been a while hasn’t it? Apologies for my absence, life got in the way for a few months but I’m back and have a few posts to catch up on! My last Glossybox post was in August so it makes sense to start back with September’s box. I’m not going to lie, I can’t remember the them so I’ll just go straight to the products!
I’m going to start with my least favourite product from September’s box and get it out the way and that is the Daily Concepts Daily Round Silicone Scrubber. Now there isn’t actually anything wrong with the product itself, it’s just that this is about the third time I have received it in a beauty box and I’m sick of them. This is a round pad with silicone bristles which can be used in the shower for a bit of a massage as well as cleansing. It has a handy loop for a secure hold and to be fair, it does the job and feels quite nice and relaxing. I just don’t need three of them.

Sticking with body care, we have the Aveeno Daily Moisturising Body Lotion. I actually hadn’t tried this before but had heard a lot of good reviews so looked forward to trying it. The lotion is formulated for sensitive skin and doesn’t have much of a scent. I actually really loved this as it applied smoothly and although it’s a little thick, it didn’t leave any greasy residue so I could get dressed pretty much straight away. My skin felt really soft and moisturised and had a nice sheen after application…thumbs up Aveeno!

Next up is the Polaar Eternal Snow Youthful Promise Cream which was another product I hadn’t tried before but I was already a fan of the brand. This cream claims to reduce fine lines, wrinkles and redness as well as moisturising and plumping skin…it all sounds a bit too good to be true! The first thing I noticed was the scent which was really nice but not overpowering. It is quite a rich formula, so maybe not the best for oily skin but I found it okay with mine. It did feel nice and moisturising, though I felt it better as a night cream rather than during the day, but it was very hydrating and my skin felt soft, smooth and bright after applying…however, I can’t say I noticed a visible difference. I would definitely use this again…although saying that, I haven’t replenished it yet.

Another skincare product I received in this box was the Grace & Stella Hydrating Facial Spray. Now this isn’t something I would usually incorporate into my routine but in the name of research I gave it a go. This spray is kind of advertised as a replacement for a toner but also says you can use it throughout the day…I feel like they may be trying to cover all bases here but I used it as a pick me up whenever I felt my skin was a bit dry or tight. It has a lovely light rose fragrance and the spray certainly felt refreshing and perked up my skin when needed. I wouldn’t say this is an essential product but it was very nice to have and I would use it again if someone were to buy it for me (but I probably wouldn’t buy it for myself).

Last but not least is The Balm Staniac Lip & Cheek Stain. I lied before, this was actually my least favourite product and not because I had received it before. As the name suggests, this can be applied to lips or cheeks (or probably anywhere) for a pop of colour. Personally I found it gloopy and tricky to apply…it removed my foundation leaving my face looking patchy and the colour is very sheer meaning I would need to apply more (no thanks). I will admit, I used my fingers to apply this and maybe there is a better way but I wasn’t sold and didn’t like it enough to try.

So all in all September’s box was a mixed bag but definitely more of a success than not. I really liked the body lotion and the face cream. The facial spray was a nice treat and although the body scrubber was a repeat, it actually is a good product. The only fly in the ointment was the lip and cheek stand but the less said about that the better!
Until next time,
K x
