It may be Summer at the time of writing but here’s a throwback to the Spring and the April Glossybox. This was another great box with lots of goodies that were perfect for the seasons ahead…although we are now in August and I’m still waiting for it to stop raining.
As usual, I’ll start with my favourite and that’s make-up. The first item I received was the Bellapierre Mineral Bronzer (Full size RRP £19). I can’t say I have used a loose powder bronzer before, so this was intriguing. I did find this to be a little messy and I managed to drop bits all over my clothes and the carpet but the shade was nice, it applied well and was easy to blend. I still prefer my compact powder and cream bronzers over this but I do still use it as it seems to be lasting forever. It’s also vegan, cruelty free and made with natural ingredients so a definite feel good product.

Next up we have the Oulac Cream Eyeshadow Pot in shade Mauve (RRP £12.50). This was a brand I hadn’t heard of before but the pot looked very pretty with the matte gold lid and I loved the brown/ bronze coloured cream. The product itself was nice and creamy and applied smoothly leaving a nice pigment and a touch of shimmer. It was easy to blend and was perfect for a daytime look…though it definitely didn’t last all day and did crease quite a lot (I still haven’t found a cream shadow that doesn’t). They do also state that you can apply this as a primer under other shadows but I can’t say I have tried this yet. All in all a very pretty eyeshadow, I’d just like it to be a bit longer wearing.

Moving on we have the Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Mask (Full size RRP £43). This was a fairly small sample but I got a good few uses out of it and really enjoyed it. This gel claims to soothe, hydrate and calm skin, particularly after sun exposure, waxing, peels etc. I definitely found this mask to be very soothing on my skin…I tried it after working outside for the day and my skin was quite sore and weather beaten and it felt very refreshed and smooth afterwards. I can’t say I noticed any visible difference after using it, but I’d definitely recommend as a soothing treat.

The next item out the box was the Spectrum Collections Rock ‘n’ Glam Smoky Shader brush (RRP unknown). I love this brand and although I have received a few brushes in other boxes, I am always happy to see them! I love that this brush had black bristles as it makes me feel less guilty about using them as they don’t look as dirty as lighter ones. The bristles are super soft and blends eyeshadow beautifully and the brush itself is so pretty! This has been added to my collection, though I’ll always be happy to receive more!

Last but definitely not least and the perfect addition to the eyeshadow brush is the ISO Clean Make-up Brush Cleaner (RRP £8 for 110ml). I desperately needed a brush cleaner so this arrived at the perfect time and I put it straight to work! I sprayed my brushes with this and left for 60 seconds before wiping with a clean paper towel and I could see all the grime come off (I won’t admit how dirty they had become). I did also rinse after, I don’t know if you need to but I did anyway and my brushes were super clean and fluffy afterwards. I’ll definitely restock once I have finished this bottle as it is so quick and easy to use.

So there we have April’s Glossybox review…I thought this was a great box and have used everything I received. Even though the bronzer isn’t my favourite, I still like it and will finish the pot (if I ever make it to the end). I loved the eyeshadow brush, cream eyeshadow and the brush cleaner and the face mask was lovely too, so this was definitely a successful box.
