June Glossybox 2024

Hola! Throwing it back to Summer time, when Glossybox subscribers received the Summer Vibes box (or should I say bag). This month GB changed it up a little and surprised us with a fun little pouch rather than the usual pink box and it will be perfect as a make-up or wash bag going forward. Subscribers were also treated to a few extra sample products which is always nice to see. So let’s get on and have gander at what June’s box had to offer.

Starting strong with make-up, we have a full sized Made by Mitchel Blursh Liquid Blusher in the shade Melon Sorbet (RRP £14). I hadn’t used this blusher before but had of course seen it all over social media so I was excited to give it a try. I wasn’t disappointed…this blush is fabulous! It is very pigmented so a little goes a long way but it blends like a dream and didn’t remove my make-up underneath or leave it looking patchy. I also saw people were using this on their lips so I gave that a go too and it looked great with a swipe of liner. Definitely recommend and I now need this in multiple shades!

The second make-up product I received (and another full size) was the Lottie London Ready Set! Go Under Eye Setting Powder in Brightening Pink (RRP £7.95). I had used the regular setting powder in the past which was okay but nothing magical so I wasn’t over enthused to see this. I was even less enthused when I saw it was a light pink colour, however, I had seen many an influencer applying this kind of product and declaring it amazing for brightening. I don’t want to disappoint you all, but this looked utterly ridiculous…like I had had no sleep or had some sort of eye infection. I will say, it looked slightly better when applied to the rest of my face but I still felt it was too pink for my liking. The formula itself was lovely, really soft and didn’t settle too badly. But as you can imagine, I did not use this again and probably never will.

Moving on to body care, we have the Anatomicals Fashionably Fruity Body Cleanser (Full size RRP £7). I always like receiving shower gels as I feel you can never have enough and the smaller sizes are perfect for taking on holiday. This shower gel had a really nice, fruity scent which was quite strong at first but didn’t linger afterwards, though I would have preferred it if it did. It left my skin feeling clean and soft after my shower and the bottle lasted well. I don’t really think there’s much else I can say to be honest so let’s move swiftly on.

Next up is the Gatineau Ceramide Smoothing Cream (Full size RRP £69). This is an anti-aging cream containing Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C etc and claims to protect skin and leave it hydrated and radiant. I will say I found the packaging slightly underwhelming, though the full sized product is far more chic. This had a pleasant scent and the cream had a nice texture which felt quite luxurious. It definitely left my skin feeling very soft and moisturised, though I can’t say I noticed any anti-aging benefits in the short time I used it…though this is not surprising. I really liked this moisturiser, but I’m not sure I would pay £69 for the pleasure of using it again.

Subscribers had the option to choose a scent in their June Boxes…I chose the mini Viktor & Rolf but received Ghost Orb of Night instead which kind of defeated the purpose. However, I did really like this perfume so I won’t complain too much. I’m rubbish at describing fragrances so just know that it had a really nice scent which lasted well and wasn’t too overpowering. A nice perfume that is perfect for day or night and won’t break the bank.

I also received a couple of extra samples in the form of the Viktor & Rolf perfume samples (the kind that you rub on yourself from a sheet of card) and a little pot of Nivea moisturising cream. The perfume samples were very nice, I liked them both and have purchased Flowerbomb a few times in the past. My skin doesn’t really get on with Nivea and for some reason Glossybox are intent on making me use it as this must be the third or fourth time I have received this little tub! I certainly won’t moan at receiving extra treats though.

And that’s it for June’s offering. I really liked this box, especially the liquid blush, shower gel and perfume. Although I didn’t like the setting powder, it was great to try it and I have since passed it to a friend so at least it is getting used.
