September Glossybox 2024

There’s snow on the ground here but here I am writing up September’s Glossybox review! Better late then never though, am I right? September’s theme was ‘Autumn Glow’ which I thought was very appropriate and was looking forward to some fall themed goodies. Did Glossybox deliver? Read on to find out…

Starting with make-up and what I would definitely consider perfect for Autumn, the MUA Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick (RRP £3.75). I received the shade ‘Survivor’ which is a deep plum/ brown shade and unfortunately not something that suits me in any way shape or form…I think would look amazing on darker skin but for someone paler than Casper the Ghost, this was not for me. I actually didn’t even try this so can’t give a proper review but would rather be able to give it to someone than try it once and launch it in the bin. However, it does have very good reviews online and for the price, I’d say you can’t really go wrong…as long as you get the right shade, naturally.

Next out the box was the Saint Luxe Setting Spray (RRP £19.76). I was just reaching the end of my setting spray when I received this, so it couldn’t have come at a better time! I’m still not overly convinced setting sprays actually do anything but I still use them anyway and with Purslane and Hyaluronic Acid in this one, I was looking forward to trying it. This sprayed well, more of a mist than a smack in the face and provided a light layer over my base. It also had a nice scent to it which isn’t a necessity for me but was pleasant nonetheless. Did it keep my make-up looking fresh for longer? I have no idea but I did finish the bottle which is always a good sign.

Moving onto skincare and one of my favourite brands, the Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream (Full size RRP £95). I love this moisturiser and have used it multiple times before so was pleased to see it in my September box. First of all the scent is beautful! That signature Elemis scent that belongs in a spa! My skin always feels so soft and hydrated after using this and I’ve never experienced any breakouts. Spenny but definitely worth it if you want to treat yourself!

Next up was the Youth Lab Brightening Boom Mask (No idea of the RRP). I know they aren’t good for the environment so I have cut down on my sheet mask use but when one falls into your lap it would be rude not to use it! Top tip – I always cut my sheet masks around the eyes and nose for a better fit. I left this on for 15-20 minutes and then rubbed in the remaining serum. My skin felt incredible soft and looked refreshed and bright. A short term solution but perfect for a bit of a pamper.

Next out the box was the Mudmasky Vitamin Infused Scalp Serum (Full size RRP £39). I have received quite a few products from this brand before and I can’t say I have been wowed by any of them yet so I wasn’t optimistic about this. Apparently this can strengthen and thicken hair which is something I am always looking for so that was something to look forward to. I applied the serum and massaged it into my scalp as instructed and then washed out at the end of the day. Did I notice a dramatic difference? No…but then it does say it takes a while to work and because it was a small tube, I probably needed more time. I will say that my hair did feel nice after rinsing and there may have been a bit more lift than usual…would I pay £39 though? Probably not.

Last but not least I received an extra treat in September’s box, a hydration multiplyer sachet. Not something I have ever used but I gave it to my partner who said it tasted nice and I’m assuming it hydrated him sufficiently.

And there we have it, September’s offering done and dusted. I will say this wasn’t my favourite box, purely because I really hated the shade of lipstick and the scalp serum was a bit of a wet blanket. However, I did love the moisturiser, and the sheet mask and setting spray were great too, so all in all it was pretty successful.

For £5 off your first box, you can use my code KIRSTY-R25… Christmas is just around the corner!!

Until next time,

K x
