It may be Christmas now but it’s Halloween month in this blog post! The October Glossybox certainly didn’t give off any spooky feels but it was a great box and I’m looking forward to reviewing it…so let’s wait no longer and get stuck in.
I’m going to change things up and I’m not going to start with make-up this month (I know, screaming, crying, throwing up). Instead I’m starting with the Brushworks Cloud Headband (RRP £8.99) and I was buzzing to see this as I had been scoping around looking for one like this for make-up and face washing duties. It is so cute and I love the bouncy little cloud shape! It keeps my hair out of the way, doesn’t leave it looking misshapen and is soft and comfortable to wear. No negatives – double thumbs up.

Okay, now to make-up and next up was the Bang Beauty Liquid Eyeliner (RRP £16). I wasn’t overly bothered about this at first as I have a few liquid liners waiting to be opened but let’s be honest, they are a classic product and will always get used…at least in my house anyway. This had a nice sized nib, not too think, not too thick…and it applied smoothly and evenly providing an even, black line (I know it seems obvious but some can be patchy and need a couple of layers). I’m certainly not the best at flicks but I liked how easy it was to use and the outcome was always satisfactory. it also dried down quickly so I never had to worry about smudging.

Next up, we have the Bubble T Glow Body Serum (RRP £12.99) which I think was a Glossybox exclusive. This isn’t a product I had used before but with claims of radiant glow and irresistible fragrance, I was keen to give it a try. As directed, I applied to clean, dry skin and I have to say it did leave my body looking beautifully glowy without being too glittery. It did take a little while before it felt dry enough to get dressed but that wasn’t something that bothered me too much. The scent was also an absolute delight, not too sweet but a coconutty kind of scent. I’m not sure how this would have worked over instant tan, I didn’t try that out but I do wonder if it would end up looking patchy which would definitely be a downer for me.

I was very pleased to see the Aveeno Calm + Restore Oat Rich Balm (RRP £9.74) in my October box as I have used the serum before and absolutely loved it! I originally wasn’t sure if this was for face or body but after doing a bit of digging a can confirm it is a face product (in particular for dry and/ or sensitive skin). I found this cream to be very rich and was great when my skin was feeling particularly dry and tight due to the colder weather. It was super moisturising and I didn’t experience any breakouts. I would also apply this during the day if I felt I needed a bit of extra TlC. It is unscented too, so perfect for those who dislike perfumed products. This brand is criminally underrated, their products are just so good at a very reasonable price!

The final product from my October box was the Percy & Reed Volumising Dry Shampoo (50ml RRP £9, Full size RRP £18). Who doesn’t love Percy & Reed? I haven’t come across a product of theirs that I dislike yet so I was obviously chuffed to receive this. I had already been through multiple bottles of this dry shampoo so I already knew I loved it…it smells great, doesn’t leave any tell tale white residue and gives hair a good bit of oomph. No more needed to be said, it’s fab and I thoroughly recommend!

So there we have October’s box, I really enjoyed trying these products and there wasn’t a single one that I didn’t like. I was particularly pleased with the headband and the dry shampoo but all the items were a delight to use. Until next time,
K x
