May Glossybox 2025

After some corking Spring weather, the May theme of Sunny Beginnings seemed very apt! With longer and hopefully more sunny days ahead (which proved to be right), this box promised looks inspired by the “golden hues and vibrant energy of early summer”. So let’s dive in and see if it delivered the goods.

Starting with the perfect product for summer, the E.L.F. Skin Suntouchable Whoa Glow SPF 30 in the shade sunbeam (RRP £14). Now as a pale skinned girlie, I love anything with SPF so I was pumped to receive this in my May box. This is a lightweight, broad-spectrum SPF which protects skin as well as acting as a glowy primer. I really loved this product and although I usually wear factor 50, this worked an absolute treat! I loved the glowy hint, perfect below make-up or just on it’s own and it didn’t leave any white cast at all. I was very sad when I reached the end of the tube and have acquired another already…big thumbs up!

Next up and another full sized product is the Delilah Eye Line Longwear Retractable Pencil (RRP £23). I was always hankering after a brown eyeliner and I feel like I have received them non stop in my beauty boxes since! So although I didn’t really need this, I did like the look of the deep brown shade and the creamy looking nib. This applied like a dream, so smooth and no tugging or pulling at my lids. It lasted well, was easy to blend and had a built in sharpener to keep the nib in tip top shape for creating a sharp line.

If you read this on the reg you will know that one of my pet peeves with beauty boxes is receiving a shampoo or conditioner without it’s partner, so I was very happy to see a pair in this month’s box! Yes they aren’t full size and they seemed to count as two separate products but they are perfect for travelling which is always handy when you don’t want to use the hotel freebies. I received the deluxe sized Wild Science Lab Sunlit/ Sunset shine shampoo and conditioner (RRP £6 each). I had seen this brand doing the rounds on social media but had never tried anything by them before so I was looking forward to giving these a go and as luck would have it, I was going on a trip soon after so took them in my travel bag…perfect. I’m not entirely sure what this duo claims in terms of hair but I found that they left mine feeling lovely and soft without weighing it down. Obviously with my long locks, I didn’t get lots of uses out of these but my hair felt lovely and healthy afterwards and I have been looking into other options from the brand since (I haven’t committed to any yet but that’s just because I can never make a decision).

The last item out the box is the Anatomicals Make Your Skin Grin Body Lotion(RRP £5). I have used many a product from this brand in the past, I have never found them to be particularly luxurious but they are very good considering the price point! This body lotion in particular contains extracts of papaya, shea butter and mango and the scent takes you off to a far away island. The lotion itself is fairly thick, though it does take some rubbing in before it disappears which isn’t ideal if you want a quick slap on and go. Overall, it’s not got quite the same luxurious feel as the more expensive brands but it does the job, my skin felt soft and smooth and the fruity scent lingered nicely afterwards.

And there we have May’s offering. All in all I really liked this box and used everything until they were finished. My favourite products this month would have to be the SPF and the shampoo and conditioner and I will be purchasing both of these again but I also liked the body lotion and the eye liner too.
