As usual, I have managed to lag behind on my Glossybox posts! But I’m here with August’s offering (oh to be back in those sunny days of Summer). August’s theme was Beach Dreams…I wish!! So I was hoping for some summery products, perfect for the heat and and long summer days.
As usual, I’ll start with my favourite part, the make-up! I received a full sized Laurens Skincare Silk Trace Lip Liner (RRP £12) in a gorgeous nudey pink shade. The formula itself was lovely and creamy and applied like a dream, no tugging or pulling at the lips. The colour was beautiful, really natural with a nice pop of pink and it lasted well throughout the day. I really liked this, and it’s a great everyday liner.

That was the only make-up product in August’s box so we move on to skincare and next out the box was the Earth Harbor Naturals Mystic Waters Mineralizing Rescue Mist (try saying that three times at speed) (RRP 13.27). I always feel like face mists are a bit of a gimmick and a waste of time, though I have used one or two that I actually loved so I didn’t judge this too quickly. I soon realised that this was actually a toner and I quite liked the spray aspect, much better than having to use cotton wool. This felt nice and refreshing when I spritzed onto my skin and although it was a little forceful, it was still more of a spritz than camel spitting in your face. My skin felt soft and revaitalised and I enjoyed using this, though I can’t say I have repurchased…I’d use it again if received as a gift but don’t think I would think to buy it for myself.

Next up is the Beauty Pro Super Hydrating Travel Face Sheet Mask (RRP £6). I know I shouldn’t but I just love a sheet mask, so I was very happy to spot this in my box. It does what it says on the tin…my skin felt so soft and moisturised after 20 minutes of using this mask, the perfect pamper product when your skin needs a bit of a pick me up and you need a bit of me time.

Moving on, we have the Baija Shimmering Body Lotion Moana (RRP £11.50). I often find that shimmery products aren’t actually very moisturising and can leave my skin feeling sticky, though I needn’t have worried here as this body lotion really sank in and left my skin feeling fabulously soft. The shimmer wasn’t too glittery thankfully, just a gorgeous subtle glow which make my skin look great in the summer months. I wasn’t sure about the scent at first but it definitely grew on me and I really enjoyed every aspect of this…I just wish the tube was bigger. Probably not something for every day but perfect for summer or evenings out.

Last out the box was the Skincyclopedia Hydrating Complex Prebiotic Shower Gel (RRP £10). I’ll be honest, I was not excited to use this when I first saw it as I prefer my shower gels to be scented and luxurious and this did not give off that vibe. It didn’t have a strong scent but did leave my skin feeling soft and hydrated rather than tight and uncomfortable after showering. I gave this to my partner who has very sensitive skin and he enjoyed using it but for me, I prefer something with a bit of pizzazz!

And there we have it, August’s box in all it’s glory. I absolutely loved the lip liner, sheet mask and and body lotion this month. I also enjoyed using the facial spritz, even though it’s probably not something I’d buy for myself. The only product I didn’t really like was the shower gel and that is not because it wasn’t a good product, just when it comes to shower gels, I definitely prefer a more scented product.
