I know we are all feeling festive but let’s throw it back to Autumn for the October Glossybox which aimed to provide products to make us all look and feel good through that in between weather! No messing around, lets get straight into it.
Starting with a product I have used before, a travel sized Color Wow Dream Cocktail Kale-Infused Leave in Treatment (RRP £12). This cream is filled with amino acids and vitamins and claims to strengthen hair as well as prevent future damage. It also protects against heat and UV rays which is always a bonus. I’ve use this product before (and have bought my own) and I really enjoy using it as my hair always feels really soft and healthy. I don’t really believe anything repairs damaged hair other than getting the chop but this stuff definitely makes it look and feel a lot better!

Next out the box we have the Couture Haus Beauty Lip Butter in Iced Coffee (RRP £14.99). This isn’t a brand I had come across before but I love a good lip product and although I don’t like coffee, I was definitely intrigued. Infused with jojoba, macadamia and rose flower oil, this seems to be a hybrid of a balm and a gloss…it left my lips feeling moisturised and soft but also left a lovely nude, glossy finish. The coffee flavour wasn’t too strong, I actually found it quite pleasant and if I didn’t have a stash of similar products waiting to be opened, I’d definitely buy this again.

Sticking with what I originally thought was another lip product, we have the Bang Beauty Eye Liner (RRP 12). The reason I thought this was a lip liner was that it is a very lovely nude shade, however, it is actually intended to brighten and define the eye area. I used this on my water line and inner corners and it did indeed live up to it’s claims. It’s got a lovely smooth. creamy texture so doesn’t drag the delicate skin around the eyes and it did make them look noticeably brighter. I can’t say this is something I would buy myself, I don’t think it is a necessity in my make-up routine, however it is nice to have.

Moving on to skincare, we have a deluxe sized Rodial Dragon’s Blood Hyaluronic Mask (RRP £34). I’ve never actually bought anything from this brand for myself but I have used a number of their products and have always been impressed so I was pleased to see this in October’s box. This basically claims to give skin a good old hit of moisture, leaving it feeling soft, soothed and plump. I must say, I really enjoyed using this mask! My skin felt so soft and smooth after using this and I feel like it looked noticeably brighter. It also smells fabulous and didn’t irritate my skin in the slightest, I’d absolutely recommend trying this mask if your skin is feeling dry and it is definitely something I would buy for myself.

Last but not least, we have the Gruum Skira Melting Sleep Butter (RRP £9). I have to say, I have received a few bars of soap/ cleaners etc and I never really look forward to using them, so I was a bit disappointed to see this, however, in the name of research I gave it a go. This can be used in the bath or the shower and releases aromatic notes which I assume are intended to help relax and unwind before bed. I did enjoy the scent and found it lovely and relaxing…in fact I actually quite enjoyed using the bar in general as it also left my skin feeling soft and smooth as well as leaving the delicate scent…my main issue was where to store it between uses as with all bars, it left residue on whatever surface I stored it on which I found incredibly irritating.

So there we have October’s box and personally, I think it was a pretty good one. I loved the lip butter, face mask and the hair product and I did use the eyeliner and sleep butter to the end, even if I wouldn’t buy them again. If you would like to join Glossybox, you can get £5 off your first box with the code KIRSTY-R25.
Until next time,
Kx
