I thought I had finished my 2025 posts but I came on and found them sitting in drafts, so here we are again, throwing it way back to November! I’ll be honest, I don’t remember what the theme was for this month but no doubt it was something to do with colder weather and darker nights! Let’s just get straight into it shall we?
There was only one make-up product in November’s box and that was the The Beauty Crop Gripping Primer (20ml RRP £8). I have to say, I never find these very nice to look at, they always look very cheap and gloopy inside the tube, though that does not have any impact on the effectiveness of the product! This primer applies smoothly and leaves my skin feeling lovely and soft, the perfect canvas for a faceful of make-up! Foundation applies perfectly over this, no pilling or patchiness to be seen and I definitely find that it stays put far longer than when I use nothing underneath. Great product!

Moving onto hair products, we have the TIGI Bed Head Extreme Hold Hairspray (Full size RRP £16). I love a good hair spray so was very pleased to see this! I had an event soon after receiving this and put my hair in an updo so gave it a good coating and can confirm that it Did. Not. Budge. Yes, my hair did feel slightly stiff but to be honest, that’s what I would expect from an extreme hold product. I love this hairspray and have used for multiple updos since (I have since ran out but I would absolutely purchase this again). It does the job and it does it well, no complaints.

On to skincare next and we have the Wild Science Night Shift Renewal Eye Serum (Travel size RRP £17). This eye serum claims to target dark circles, fine lines and puffiness which all sounds great to me! I applied this in the evening, dabbing around the eye area before heading to bed and letting it work it’s magic. To be honest, I don’t really suffer with dark circles so I can’t really comment on that aspect (though the reviews are very good in this area). I haven’t seen a difference in my fine lines but I have also never found an eye product that has managed this. However, I definitely noticed a reduction of puffiness which I felt made me look less tired in the mornings. Is it a miracle worker? Definitely not. Is it a nice eye product? Absolutely. Would I purchase again? Hmmm I’d think about it but I certainly wouldn’t feel loyal to this product.

Next out the box we have the Pamper & Polish Polish Pads (RRP £16.49). These cleansing pads claim to remove make-up and general grime using just water. No, this isn’t a new concept and they aren’t a very exciting addition to a beauty box but you can’t deny that they are useful. I put these to the test with a full face of make-up and they easily cut through the foundation and mascara (disclaimer, not waterproof). My face was squeaky clean after using, not a trace of make-up left so they definitely do the job well.

The final item in November’s box was a mini Neutrogena Clear & Defend Face Wash (Full Size RRP £6.49). This is a brand I would not think about buying these days, I feel like Neutrogena is more for teenagers than people in their 30’s. I did give it a try and was quickly reminded why I don’t buy this brand…it felt very harsh on my skin (and for the love of God don’t get it in your eyes)! My face felt tight, sore and generally very sensitive after using this and it went straight in the bin. This is definitely not for me and I honestly don’t know how they are still managing to sell these products! It was also tiny and I felt like it should have been an extra rather than one of the usual five products.

And there we have it for November, a mixed box on the whole. I loved the hair spray and the primer. The pads were a bit dull but do their job well and the eye cream was also very nice… and the less said about the cleanser the better!
