Spooky season is upon us and Glossybox have got into the spirit with a Magical Masquerade themed box which encourages us to unleash our alter egos with the red and black ‘Secret’ box design or be your authentic self with the black and silver ‘Truth’ box (I got the Truth box FYI). Subscribers will also receive a cardboard mask to match their box which look pretty cool, although not that I will ever use it as a mask. I have to say I wasn’t as excited by this year’s October box as I was about last year’s but there are lots of full sized items and a good mix of items, although slightly more make-up this month which I’m certainly not complaining about.

Another day, another delayed review post…and although my Birchbox was delayed this month, it’s more due to me being lazy and I just really couldn’t be arsed. But here it is, in all it’s glory and still with a day to spare! This month subscribers were treated to a tin rather than a cardboard box which was a nice little surprise…and a perfect little storage solution. As is often the case with Birchbox there were a lot of small sample sizes and much like September’s Glossybox, it was quite skincare heavy…but I did get some fabulous finds…

This month’s Glossybox was delayed, hence why this post is so late in the month…it was however, jam packed with goodies so I’m certainly not complaining! September’s theme was Pure Relaxation, bringing us products which aim to allow us to pamper and relax…and worth over £75 in total! I received three full sized items in this month’s box as well as three trial sized items and an extra sweet treat as an added bonus. But enough of that, let’s just get to the good bit…

I am late late late with this post but I’ve just managed to squeeze it in before August comes to an end. I got reminded that today is the last day of summer today which is very sad seeing as I feel like most of it has been rain, rain and more rain! However, while it was a bit dreich down in the Borders this weekend, I spent a couple of days in glorious sunshine up in Perth so at least that was something. Anyway, August’s Birchbox theme was Cosmic Beauty and subscribers were treated to an astrological design on their boxes which was looked amazing. The products themselves were pretty good this month with a good variety of make-up, skincare and hair proucts…but lets delve a little deeper.

I had been meaning to get this written sooner but due to personal circumstances it got delayed…but better late than never hey? It’s been nearly two years since I’ve been to a proper show (Burghley 2019 I think?!) and I cannot tell you how much I am looking forward to making up for lost time…whether spectating or working on a stand, I bloody love the shows…agricultural, horse trials, game fairs, you name it, I want to be there! And with Blair horse trials just around the corner and me already planning what to pack, I thought I might as well make it into a post. It can be a nightmare trying to decide what to wear as the Scottish weather always likes to be unpredictable and keep us on our toes (my last Blair visit ended in a mud bath after constant torrential rain). But it isn’t just the outfits and eventing that makes up the fun, the shopping is just as big a part of the weekend and I am definitely planning to splash the cash (well, what little I have left until payday).

My August Glossybox was delayed this month but yay, it’s finally here! Glossybox are celebrating their 10th Birthday and this month’s box is worth over £75! The box design is super fun, featuring shiny disco balls and lots of teeny sparkly stars…definitely a keeper. As for the contents, I received two full sized products, two deluxe minis and an extra little treat, as well as a great mix of make-up and skincare products. But let’s not beat around the bush and just get to the good stuff…

I’m not a big holiday buff at the best of times, but after nearly two years of not going anywhere, I was so ready for a getaway, and thanks to a phobia of flying, I am a big fan of the humble staycation. I was lucky enough to get away not once, but twice over the past few weeks, a cheeky midweek night away in Edinburgh and then a chilled few days up in Perthshire.

So this post is late this month as my Glossybox was very delayed in making it’s way to my door. This was outwith Glossybox’s control and they did keep me (and everyone else I would imagine) up to date via e-mail so I didn’t have a problem with this…although going by the comments on their social media pages, many others clearly didn’t feel the same way (we are still technically in the midst of a pandemic may I remind you). Anyway, my July box finally arrived and what a beauty it was! This month’s theme is “Beauty Treasures” and Glossybox are providing us with some hidden treasures (their words, not mine), as well as a treasure chest box design which I will definitely be keeping! Were the contents as exciting as the box? You’ll have to read on to find out!

This year is going way too fast for my liking, I don’t know what it is about lockdown but the past year and a half feels like it has literally flown by! It’s like we are only just creeping into summer and yet already more than halfway through July. I also realise that most of my posts start with me stating that time is moving too fast…however, I am unlikely to stop. Moving on to the actual contents of this post, the July Birchbox. This month’s theme is all about getting closer to nature and a countryside staycation rather than heading off abroad. The boxes themselves have been transformed into a floral bag which will be perfect as a washbag or make-up bag! This month’s offering is very pamper heavy and I didn’t receive any make-up products which was a shame, but that’s not to say I didn’t like what I received!

I was thinking about cancelling my Birchbox subscription a few months ago and I’m so glad I didn’t as the past couple of boxes have been really good and this month is no exception. June’s Birchbox theme is “Express Yourself” and subscribers will receive a bright, rainbow coloured box (which is a treat in itself and I will definitely be keeping for storage). I received 6 products in this month’s box and there is a great variety of products from make-up and skincare to hair care and beauty tools!
